Jaipur-Ajmer highway Accident: A devastating collision between a chemical truck and an LPG tanker on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway early Friday morning has claimed 11 lives and left dozens injured in Rajasthan’s capital city.
The incident occurred around 5:45 AM near a school in the Bhankrota area, triggering a massive explosion that engulfed nearly two dozen vehicles in flames.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for those injured in the accident.

“Currently, 28 patients are admitted to the hospital, with six on ventilator support,” said Dr. Sushil Kumar Bhati, Superintendent of SMS Hospital. He added that over 60% of the victims have suffered severe burns.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma visited the accident site and announced:

“A horrific accident and fire occurred in the Bhankrota area of Jaipur early today on the main Ajmer Road,” said SP Amit Kumar. “The fire started due to a collision involving several vehicles one after the other.”

Local authorities and fire services were immediately dispatched to the scene. Rescue operations continued throughout the morning as emergency teams worked to control the blaze and assist victims.
