Special buses for Kumbh 2025: In a major transportation initiative for the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has announced comprehensive arrangements to facilitate devotee movement between Lucknow and Prayagraj. The corporation will deploy 400 dedicated buses exclusively for the Lucknow region as part of its larger fleet of 7,000 buses serving the mega religious gathering.

Kumbh Mela 2025 travel arrangements
UPSRTC has established a robust support system including:
- Temporary bus stations at strategic locations
- Multiple check posts along the route
- Dedicated workshops at Prayagraj fairgrounds
- Round-the-clock technical support team
The corporation has strategically positioned its technical staff across various facilities to ensure uninterrupted service throughout the 74-day event. This extensive arrangement aims to provide seamless transportation for the millions of devotees expected to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025.
“This comprehensive transportation plan demonstrates our commitment to providing safe and efficient travel options for pilgrims attending this sacred event,” stated a senior UPSRTC official.
The initiative marks one of the largest-scale transportation arrangements in recent years, highlighting the state’s preparedness for managing the massive influx of visitors during the religious gathering.
